Multimodal Smart Mobility

Dr. Gu received his Ph.D. (Transportation), together with an M.Sc. (IEOR) and M.A. (Economics) from University of California, Berkeley. He also received a B.S. and an M.Eng. (Civil Engineering) from Tsinghua University. He joined the Department of Electrical Engineering (now the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering) of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in October 2013. Dr. Gu has published over 40 journal papers, most of which on Transportation Research Part A-E and Transportation Science. He is serving as an Editorial Board Editor for Transportation Research Part B, Associate Editors for Transportation Science, Transportmetrica A: Transport Science, and Transportmetrica B: Transport Dynamics, as well as Guest Editors for several other journals. He has been awarded an Early Career Scheme grant and five General Research Fund grants from the Research Grant Council of Hong Kong, and a Smart Traffic Fund grant from the Transport Department of Hong Kong. His other awards include a Research Grant Achievement Award from the Faculty of Engineering at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, a Gordon F. Newell Award for Excellence in Transportation Science, and a Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-Financing Students Abroad.
