We are seeking highly motivated PhD candidates to join our research team. We welcome applications in the broad area of Transportation Systems Engineering, with a focus on, but not limited to:
- Smart Mobility Systems: Design, optimization, and real-time control of multimodal transportation networks.
- Transportation Data Science and Big Data Analytics.
- Electric & Future Mobility: Planning and management of electric vehicle charging infrastructure, fleet electrification, and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) systems.
- Urban Air Mobility (UAM): Network design, operational logistics, and economic analysis for the emerging low-altitude economy (e.g., drone delivery, eVTOLs).
- AI in Transportation: Development and application of advanced AI models (e.g., reinforcement learning, LLM, foundation models) for traffic prediction, control, and simulation.
Scholarship opportunities:

Eligibility:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in areas like Transportation/Traffic Engineering, Operations Research / Industrial Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Management Science, Computer Science, Automation. (Preferrably, the bachelor’s degree is awarded by a Project 985 university in Mainland China or a prestigious overseas university.)
- A degree for which English was the language of instruction / IELTS 6.5 / TOEFL (Internet-based test) 80.
